Inez Lea Thorp, 73, Humble, TX, died Saturday, Jan. 21, 2012, at a hospital at Humble.

She was born on Dec. 5, 1938, at Valley Falls, the daughter of Marvin and Mary Boyd Cropper. She graduated from Valley Falls High School in 1957.

Inez had worked for several years in the oil industry as a secretary. She was a member of the Humble Area First Baptist Church.

She married Charles (Bill) Thorp on June 22, 1958, at Valley Falls. They had resided in Humble for the last 34 years.

Survivors include her husband, Charles, of the home, two daughters, Kathryn Davis, of Beaumont, TX and Carolyn Gosselin and her husband, Robert, of Zachary, Louisiana; a brother, Melvin Cropper of Wikieup, Arizona; and five grandchildren, Kevin Davis and wife Alison, Lauren Gosselin, Nicholas Gosselin, and Abigail Gosselin.

The funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, Jan. 27, 2012, at Mercer Funeral Home in Valley Falls. Burial will be at the Valley Falls Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. Friday until service time. Memorial contributions may be made to the Lupus Foundation and sent in care of the funeral home, PO Box 6, Valley Falls, KS 66088. Services in Humble, TX, were under the direction of Rosewood Funeral Home.
