Olive L. Hyatt

Olive L. Hyatt, 75, of Holton passed away July 25, 2012 in Holton.

She was born September 22, 1936 in Delia, Kansas the daughter of Lemuel D. and Edna (Burns) Place. She graduated from Circleville High School in 1954. On June 23, 1956 Olive married Everett L. Hyatt in Holton. She had worked at the Slimaker Dress Factory and Trails Café. She was a member of the Citizen Band Potawatomi Tribe and attended Mayetta United Methodist Church.

She is survived by: her husband, Everett, of the home; her son, Randy Hyatt, Sr. of Holton, KS; her sister, Ruth Long of Holton, KS; her ten grandchildren, Cassandra, Stephanie, Megan, Kristina, Randy, Jr., Nicholas, Joseph, Katie, Crystalynn and Trey; and her five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Ricky Dean Hyatt in 2008 and her brother Glenn “Tiny” Place in 2007.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday July 30, 2012 at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Burial will be in Olive Hill Cemetery. The family will greet friends Sunday evening from 7-8:30 p.m. Memorials are suggested to Jackson County Medicalodges or Mayetta United Methodist Church and may be left in care of Mercer Funeral Home, P.O. Box 270, Holton 66436.
